San Jose Police investigate an explosive device found in a house of the 400 block of Sixth Street, San Jose, Calif., after serving a search warrant on Sept. 13, 2011.  The SJ Bomb Squad detonated the explosives around 7:15pm.

The one thing I would have done differently to tell a better story is to photograph the bystanders.  There were a lot of onlookers surrounding the scene.  They would have made for great portraits with great expressions.  I got caught up in the police action, and by the time I realized it, the light was gone.
